Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab assignment requiring cath lab experience and a VA or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab setting
• Shifts are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Call required 8-10 days per month including every third weekend, with call duration ranging from 15 to 62 hours
• Care provided for cardiac catheterization patients, with possible procedures including IABP, Impella, rotational athrectomy, shockwave, temporary pacemakers, IVUS, and iFR
• May float to Interventional Radiology (IR) and Electrophysiology (EP) departments
• EPIC EMR experience is preferred
• Must be able to respond to STEMI call backs in less than 30 minutes during on-call shifts
• Functions independently as both a scrub nurse and circulator
• Pass/fail EKG testing required on the first day, with two attempts allowed and study guides provided
• Responsible for conducting and analyzing patient assessments, creating care plans, and implementing treatments
• Expected to coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and provide support for patients and families
• Works within the nursing process framework and adheres to established protocols and quality improvement initiatives

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiac cath lab, telemetry, critical care, ER, or OR is required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with conscious sedation and critical care required
• NIH Stroke certification preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
