Medical Staff Coordinator (MSPRC)

Location: San Francisco, CA
Department: Medical Staff Administration
Shift: Day Shift, 5x8 (08:00–17:00)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (with possible extension)

 

Position Overview

The MSPRC Medical Staff Coordinator provides high-level administrative, quality, and peer review support for the Multi-Specialty Peer Review Committee (MSPRC) and the Medical Staff Office (MSO). This is not a traditional credentialing role —the focus is on peer review coordination, case management workflows, committee operations, and quality support .

The ideal candidate has experience working in Peer Review, Quality, Risk Management, or Medical Staff Office departments , with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage confidential clinical information.

 

Key Responsibilities Committee & MSO Support

• Prepare, distribute, and track MSPRC meeting invitations, agendas, and materials.
• Compile and circulate pre-meeting case packets to committee members.
• Record, finalize, and distribute committee meeting minutes.
• Draft and proofread provider correspondence regarding case outcomes and follow-up actions.
• Maintain accurate case tracking logs and ensure timely case status updates.
• Monitor and respond to MSPRC-related email communications.
• Prepare and submit monthly data reports to the Medical Executive Committee (MEC).
• Support MSO with special projects involving credentialing and privileging data entry.

Quality & Peer Review Support

• Monitor referral inboxes and manage intake of new case referrals.
• Log and categorize referrals from departments, staff, and clinicians into the RL data system.
• Triage case referrals and determine appropriate workflow (advance to MSPRC, redirect, or track trends).
• Coordinate with reviewers, gather feedback, and compile case summaries.
• Prepare complete case packets for MSPRC review.
• Extract data and documentation from EMR systems (e.g., APeX).
• Support transition from legacy systems (ATLAS, MIDAS, IRIS) to RL platform ensuring accuracy and data migration.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience/training.
• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting clinical committees.
• Background in quality, peer review, or clinical administrative roles within a hospital environment.
• Strong written communication and ability to draft formal provider correspondence.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of clinical and provider information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field .
• Experience with quality/risk management platforms such as RLDatix (RL) , MIDAS, ATLAS, or IRIS.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, especially Epic (APeX) .

• 100% Onsite at  San Francisco, CA.
• No block scheduling, no on-call responsibilities.
• Holiday pay per facility guidelines.
• Must meet facility vaccination requirements (COVID + booster required).
