Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-driven Estimator with a strong background in electrical estimation to support growing project demands in the Houston area. This role is ideal for someone who excels at interpreting technical documentation, collaborating with project teams, and delivering accurate, timely cost estimates for electrical scopes of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Review blueprints, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate electrical estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, material and labor cost analyses, and create comprehensive bid packages.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to clarify scopes and gather pricing.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing, electrical components, labor rates, and market trends.
- Support preconstruction planning and assist with value-engineering options when needed.
- Track submitted bids and provide follow-up communication when required.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in electrical estimation, preferably within commercial, industrial, or construction settings.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and applicable codes.
- Proficiency with estimation software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar platforms).
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and project specs.
- Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
