JOB DESCRIPTION

With a rich history spanning more than five decades, California State Parks Foundation champions the cause of California state parks, ensuring their protection and preservation for the greater good. By collaborating with park partners and dedicated park staff, as well as engaging policymakers in Sacramento, we actively address the challenges faced by our beloved parks. It is an exciting time for the organization as we recently released our 2024-2027 strategic plan, setting the path for continued growth. The Corporate Volunteer Program Coordinator will lead the organization's Earth Day Climate Action and Corporate Volunteer Programs. These events will engage sponsor employees in impactful community service activities and support our fundraising efforts. In collaboration with the Institutional Giving Manager, they will foster and grow relationships with both current and prospective sponsors. Occasional travel throughout the state may be required for this role to lead events or attend meetings. This is a fully remote position based in California. The ideal candidate will be based in the Los Angeles area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Earth Day Climate Action (35%) Manage funds for parks, including review of fund application and draft agreements. Work closely with the Finance department to send checks to partners. Plan for Earth Day special events in partnership with the development team and communications team, including managing workplans for each event and supporting partner staff and volunteer core leaders with event logistics. Support Volunteer Program Manager in strategic planning for program growth. Corporate Volunteer Program (40%) Collaborate with the Institutional Giving Manager and Volunteer Program Manager to meet program goals that align with the organization's mission. Support strategy and implementation of this new program. Maintain relationships with park staff, partner staff, and corporate liaisons. Plan and coordinate private volunteer workdays for sponsor employees. Coordinate with Volunteer Program Manager to host small groups of corporate groups at our public volunteer workdays. Develop and implement a corporate Volunteer Core Leader training program and recruitment strategy that provides them with the skills necessary to successfully lead corporate events. Travel across California to state parks to lead or attend corporate volunteer workdays. Program Evaluation and Reporting (15%) Manage post event metrics (attendance, program impact, etc.) and reports in Salesforce. Maintain program, volunteer, and sponsor profiles and data in our organization's State Park Knowledge center. Deploy stakeholder surveys and draft survey analysis. Other Administrative Duties (10%) Answer corporate volunteerism inquiries via email and phone. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, maintaining Asana projects, taking meeting notes, and maintaining files. Draft program-specific content as needed for the organization's website and external communications such as blog posts, E-News, social media posts, collateral materials, and additional platforms that share program successes and highlights. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Commitment to California State Parks Foundation's mission Bachelor's Degree in recreation management, or equivalent experience required Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in volunteer coordination, event planning, or a related field Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Strong writing and problem-solving skills required Experience leading groups of volunteers in an outdoor setting Experience working with corporate groups and sponsors Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously that involve event planning, program reporting, corporate relation management and partnership building High integrity: ability to maintain confidentiality and operate with discretion Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, HandsOn Connect, Asana, Slack, Flickr, Survey Monkey, Expensify, Zoom preferred Confident communicating with volunteers, partners, and corporate sponsors Ability to work well independently and in a team-based environment Willingness to pitch in and perform other tasks as needed Valid driver license required, to travel to state parks and program sites as required Occasionally engaging in vigorous outdoor activities, is required Familiarity with the California state park system, environmental, and/or conservation practices preferred Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings If you do not meet all the qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.

COMPENSATION: This is a full-time, non-exempt position @ 37.5 hours per week. The hourly rate for any work completed up to 40 hours a week is $31- $35 per hour. You may also be eligible for overtime (any work above 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week), and your overtime rate is $46.50 - $52.50/hour. You may also be eligible for double-time, and your double time rate will be $62 - $70/hour. Any overtime or double-time work needs to be approved by your Supervisor. Regular, overtime and double overtime are pursuant to state, federal and the Organization's guidelines.
